In this project we created a story book containing a short story that we wrote and also some other creative aspects such as an art piece and authors statement. I am very proud of how it looks. Our story book was a little smaller than a regular book yet we crammed a whole lot into it. We Had a bio and a photo of our selves and a table of contents. We had creative freedom to make if look however we wanted.
In this project we weren't partnered with anyone specific but there were a lot of time that we collaborated with others in the class. I say this because we ere writing stories and when you write stories you go through a lot of different drafts meaning that you need a lot of critique and feedback. When we would have critique sessions I think that i gave pretty good feedback that everyone could benefit from. I don't think giving pointless critique is good for anyone. I am really happy with the critique I got back . Every draft helped me improve on not only my story but my writing skills. Otherwise there wasn't much collaboration.
Something that I learned from this project is that writing takes time and you have to set up your story before you can get to the inciting incident. I used my work ethic skills to span out my work so that i finished early and didn't leave the work to the last minute, your work can really benefit from extra time. I demonstrated oral communication specifically when I gave feedback to some peers for their review page on their story book. I tried to make my feedback seem as close to areal book review as possible. I practiced written communication in this project when I wrote my author's statement. There was bit of a back story to my short story so I decided to share it with the reader. I demonstarted conten becuase I really tried to make my final outcome look very nice and I wanted it to have good meaning, in terms of the story
Something else that I learned in this project is that I should be more decisions and independent with my thinking. I say this because I was asking questions about how it should look that I could really just decide myself. I used empathy in this project when I was giving cool critique I know that if someone was critiquing my work I would want them to be nice and understanding. I also displayed I practiced integrity because we didn't have very specific deadlines for every single portion of this project but I still got my work done a bit early. I demonstrated responsibility by asking for critique even when it wasn't necessary, for example the reviews page in my book was all me asking for feedback from students. I displayed grit because I didn't really know how to create my cover online but I asked for help from friends which was a little beneficial but I didn't give up and I finally figure it out. And I am very happy with how it turned out.
Again, I wasn't here for our exhibition so i didn't get to experience displaying and explaining my work to those viewing it. But I did get and alternate task from carol. I had to share my work with my family. I think the best thing about this was that I got some really great questions about my work and I always had a through an great answer.
