I believe that I had a very good group dynamic. I was partnered with Jack and David for this project and we chose to do the country of the faroe islands. During the whole project we completed a lot of work and we all helped each other. Of course some people had better skills. For example I was better at the art so I helped my group members with that. Jack was very good with the computer which helped for laser cutting and David was really good at torque so that helped with the psyhics portion. I feel as if I could grow as group member by applying myself more to physics and math so my partners don't have to do as much work for that portion.
I feel like I learned the most in Humanities with my style of writing. I had always loved writing but I never really knew my style or what I liked to write. This project really helped me find out that I really like to write fiction. It lets me e the most creative. Not only did I learn a lot out myself at I also learned a lot of geography and history which is something that I feel I haven't learned my entire High tech career so I'm really glad that I had the opportunity to. Not only did we learn about where these places are but we also learned about the history and the politics which is something I really like having knowledge and which will help me not only in future academics but also future traveling.
In physics I feel like this was the first time that I really started to apply myself and want to learn how to do torque. I am really glad I do so because now I can confidently say that I can do a toque diagram completely and really understand the concept behind the topic and also understand how to calculate it. Torque is really about equilibrium and making sure that the two sides of something that can equal so that they balance. In this project we really had to find equilibrium a lot to make sure that each tier of our mobile was straight. I am really thankful that I know how to do torque and I am thankful for my partners for being patient with me while teaching me how to do it. For math, there wasn't much math in this project. On the rare occasion that we did do math it was when we were doing arithmetic to calculate torque. I really mostly used a calculator because we were working with decimals. I did use a bit a math but not enough that I learned anything new.
This was the first ever project or activity that we did an engineering and I think it was good start. We were required to laser cut parts of our mobiles but not only that we were also required to hand cut small squares. I think this was a good decision to make because we got to have freedom to e creative and we also got to learn how to use more than one tool. At high tech, the laser cutter is very important, But it is also something that I need help with. For the hand-cut ones we used a scroll saw, A scroll saw is a very basic mechanical tool that allows you to do a multitude of different cuts on woods and create many different shapes.I really hope to improve more in engineering and work more in this than I had with this last project.
Regarding how our final mobile looks I am very proud of how it turned out. I think that our mobile differs from the rest. I did that by making the rods of the mobile a darker stain and also moving them in a different direction. In terms o the exhibition, I think it went very well and I am glad that I got to go into a school and share stories that wouldn't normally have someone to do that. I feel that I had a lot of creativity to offer and I was willing to help with a lot of different things. I think I was very collaborative, I tried to be very understanding of my partners and I hoped that they did the same.. I feel that I had a good work ethic because I was really excited to assemble the mobile and everyday I would come to school ready to work hard to make a beautiful final product. I feel that I demonstrated written communication well while writing our myth stories. I think I was clear yet creative with my writing. I feel I communicated well to my partners or teacher when I wasn't understanding something, specifically in math and physics. I think that I know a lot about torque and I also know a lot about different parts of the world and I feel i go into depth about with of those topics. I feel the most strong in oral communication because that is something that I am not afraid to demonstrate at all. I think I could grow in collaboration and try to work harder with my partners and be with them more. I think i was very responsible in this project because I came to work-time everyday knowing exactly what I needed to work and I did exactly just that doing work time. I think I also showed a lot of grit because I never gave up on toque and I worked really hard to understand the concept and how to calculate torque. I showed a lot of respect because I respected all the tools and all the paint and respected my space by cleaning up after myself. I also showed integrity because I didn't lay and say I knew how to do torque so that we could just keep going. I was truthful and did my work. i was empathetic when it came to my partners ideas and whatever they did i worked with and I never criticized their opinions. I am really glad about the process the outcome and the exhbition. here are osme photos frm the whole experinece.
