In this Project we were assigned a partner. I was assigned Sienna, whom I've have worked with multiple times in the past. Sienna and I make a pretty productive and well thinking group yet at time we can get pretty distracted since we are friends outside of this project. As a group, we always manage to produce a great product, which has a lot of thought and effort put into it, even if we can get off task during the process of creating our final result. When we work together we feed of each other's creativity which I think is a great aspect of collaboration. I think something that caused us to get distracted was me being a little too headstrong and not open minded and willing to try her ideas. I am quite aware of this issue and it is something that I'll continue to work on.
I learned a lot about how the process effects the final product. While creating our oven sienna and I had no clue where to start but we got all of our work done to the best of our ability. I think that represents my work ethic for the entire project. I think that i collaborated very well with Sienna. One moment when sienna and I collaborated very well was when we were making our recipes have the same layout. we each had equal work and we got into a groove where we were working very well together. I showed a lot of oral communication during this project because at many times I found myself getting stuck with the solar oven and using the tools so when we were cutting wood I asked for a lot of help from Mr. Schwartz and know I know how to use the equipment a lot better. I practiced written communication specifically in this project when I wrote my solar oven reflection. I feel like I did a really good job at explaining my strength and my struggles. I demonstrated content in this project because I think that my recipe was very detailed and looked very professional.
I learned a lot about using machines to create our solar oven. Surprisingly a High tech I haven't really used a lot of power tools and created something like a wood box from scratch. I demonstrated empathy in this project because a a certain point my partner didn't understand something about the solar oven and I tried to be very patient with her when she didn't understand. I demonstrated grit because My partner and I often times found ourselves not focusing yet we refocused and kept going and got our work done. I showed responsibility in this project because I remembered to cook both recipes with my mom and make sure I set up a time that worked for the both of us. I demonstrated Integrity because I genuinely cooked with my mom and had a great experience when I could just pretend I did.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it to to exhibition to holiday travel. I feel as if I would be extremely proud of my work because I put so effort into it. Carol had me do an alternate assignment in place of or exhibition. Carol and me present to two or more of my family members and talk about each product I made as if I were at our actual exhibition presenting to everyone passing by. I think it went very well talking to my family. I am proud of how I presented myself and I think I answered all the question they asked during it very thoroughly.
